My C82 epson stylus Printer cant recognize the cartridges!!!?

ok, i bought similar cartridges in staples it says they are compatible with c82 stylus but they are not the genuine ones (originals) but when i put them and i try to print it says that epson cannot recognize the cartridges.. is there any way i can fix
yep had that problem as well with the compatables as the originals are so expensive. my printer was less then 6 months old I binned it and got a Canon. canons are good and ink, compatable or original [it takes both without any complaints] are cheap.
