How do I install the power supply into my computer case?

I bought this book on how to build computers and they skip the step on how to install the power supply because they think I should buy a case withe the power supply already installed. However I want to choose my own power supply. Could anybody tell
(assuming you have a ATX motherboard) there is 4 pin peripheral cables SATA cables and Cables for the mother board. Ground yourself by touching a light switch or something else grounded. you then slide it in the case were ever the built in brackets are,
