What is the difference bewteen AMD Athlon, & Intel Pentium 4?

AMD Athlon 3400, 3500, 3700 etc., vs Pentium 4 Processor-how do these compare ?Which is best for speed and photo editing, music?
The Athlon also doesn't run as hot. Less voltage is required. A 3000 + AMD runs at about 2000Ghz but is rated 3000 to be compared with a 3Ghz P4. The Athlon was more popular with inthusiasts for many reasons. Check out the link I gave you for all kinds
