Belkin wireless router, internet light off and limited access from laptop?

I have a belkin 54g wireless router, main computer connected to router running on XP, virgin internet + modem, and a wireless laptop running on vista.

Everything is connected correctly, the power, modem, wireless and wired connection lights

Connect Modem [wired] to Router [wireless] to PCs.

Set router POWER OFF.

Reset modem: With a straightened paperclip, press RESET button momentarily.
