What is the best notebook computer to buy?

I took my old laptop in to Best Buy today because it had stopped booting. It is a few years old and they said it is more cost efficeient to buy a new one than to put money into the old one. So, now i'm trying to choose a new notebook computer. I am

I would still recommend a Mac, as it can run Windows too, which eliminates any compatibility problems.

Photos and Movies(playing and editing): iPhoto, DVD Player, iMovie
